COVID 19 Intervention: Yobe and Borno States
Obviously, the COVID-19 has brought a number of challenges which required deliberate efforts and supports from all stakeholders. Muhammad Abdullahi embarked on massive house-to-house campaigns on hand-washing and prevention of COVID-19 in selected communities of Yobe and Borno States. He carried out media literacy campaigns on preventive measures of the virus, and a call for stakeholders to support vulnerable communities with palliatives from 15th February, 2020 to 1st April, 2020 in Yobe and Borno States.
At the end of the project, Abdullahi realized a number of misinformation about COVID-19, and increase rate of domestic violence and abuses such as rape as a result of the stay home directive of the government or advice by professional bodies like National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
